Apache sprayers powered by Cummins reliability

by Cummins Inc., Global Power Technology Leader

Apache sprayers, built by Equipment Technologies, are designed with the farmer in mind. Their mechanical drive systems offer a straightforward, low-maintenance solution that’s efficient, lightweight and durable enough to handle demanding field conditions. One standout feature is the “tractor feel,” delivering a smooth, comfortable ride that helps operators stay productive during long days in the field.

The compact and agile AS640 sprayer is powered by the Cummins QSB4.5 Tier 4 Final engine, delivering 163 horsepower and 466 lb-ft of torque. Weighing just under 17,000 pounds, it offers excellent fuel economy and minimizes soil compaction; making it ideal for smaller farms seeking an affordable self-propelled solution, or for larger operations needing a nimble machine to reach tighter areas.

“Our customers work hard for their money. When they invest in equipment, they expect performance, reliability, and efficiency,” says Matt Hays, CEO of Equipment Technologies. “That’s why Cummins powers our entire sprayer lineup. These engines consistently deliver on what matters most to our customers.”

For larger spraying needs, Equipment Technologies offers the 40 Series sprayers, powered by Cummins 6.7-liter engines. This lineup includes:

  • AS740 – 173 hp (129 kW)

  • AS1040 – 225 hp (168 kW)

  • AS1240 – 260 hp (194 kW)

  • AS1240 XP – 300 hp (224 kW)

These machines provide more horsepower with less fuel consumption, thanks to Cummins Tier 4 Final technology. The engines feature a high-pressure common-rail (HPCR) fuel system, cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. This advanced setup delivers ultra-low emissions and up to 20% better fuel efficiency compared to previous models.

“Cummins is committed to helping customers succeed,” says Jason Beckort, Industrial Sales Manager at Cummins. “From the start, our engineers have worked closely with Equipment Technologies to ensure every Apache sprayer is optimized for power, efficiency, and reliability—so farmers can focus on what they do best.”
